Ariel hosts private and 2-person wheel throwing lessons in her personal studio. This is a great option for someone seeking individualized instruction, who requires flexible scheduling, or who is seeking a great date idea!
An exciting new offering is wheel throwing workshops for beginners hosted at White Rabbit Collective in East Nashville! These small, 8-person workshops serve as the perfect introduction to pottery.

Sgraffito Workshop

Ages 12+
Learn how to make unique and colorful designs on handmade pottery with Sgraffito. Sgraffito (Italian: "scratched") is the technique of carving away a surface layer to reveal raw clay underneath and works well for illustrations and text alike. Sgraffito also lends itself well to patterning or abstract designs. You may come with a design idea in mind, or I can help you form one on the spot! Design templates will also be available. After a little bit of practice, you will carve into one pre-made ceramic form (a handmade mug or planter). I will bisque + glaze + fire your form, which will then be available for pickup within approximately 3 weeks. Should you want to create more than one design, additional forms for carving may be available for an added fee.
Ceramic Altar Workshop

Join me to create a uniquely personal work of art to adorn your wall. As we head into the season of lit candles and cozy camaraderie, an altar can provide a meaningful space for remembrance, faith, celebration, or even just a sweet home for tiny treasures. We will explore ceramic hand building by assembling our altars, and then we will decorate them to make them personal. Altar sizes and shapes will be designated by offered templates. For decoration - you may come with imagery in mind, use templated designs I provide, or I can help you form ideas on the spot! I will bisque + glaze + fire your altar, which will then be available for pickup in approximately 3-4 weeks. (Note: timing is estimated but not guaranteed). All levels of skill welcome.
Botanical Platter Workshop

From total beginners to experienced ceramicists - all are welcome! Celebrate the season by creating a botanical print ceramic platter. Platter forms are available in various sizes and shapes - you could make a serving platter, or a pair of cake plates! You may bring your own leaves and florals, or use ones I provide. Freshly picked botanicals with thin stems work best. We will hand build the platters, and then decorate the botanical prints with color. I will bisque + clear glaze + fire your form, which will then be available for pickup within approximately 3-4 weeks (Note: timing is estimated but not guaranteed.)
